Hadrian’s Cycleway Itinerary
This Hadrian’s Cycleway itinerary covers our second tour of the year, one we will be undertaking in July. The route is described by Sustrans as ‘a ride through some of England’s most dramatic and wild countryside, taking in magnificent coastal views, breathtaking countryside and Roman forts’.
As you can see below, our Hadrian’s Cycleway itinerary is shaping up nicely:

Travel to Ravenglass.
Cycle from Ravenglass to Workington and then on to Cockermouth (distance approx 39 miles).
Stay at Cockermouth Travelodge, Cockermouth. (NOTE: As we realised after making the non-refundable booking, this is somewhat off the HCW route!)
Day 2 – Cockermouth to Carlisle
Cycle from Cockermouth back to Workington, and then on to Carlisle (distance approx 66 miles).
Stay at Carlisle Central Travelodge, Carlisle.
Day 3 – Carlisle to Haltwhistle
Cycle from Carlisle to Haltwhistle (distance approx 30 miles).
