Saturday was Ravens Route Day 1, and the start of our Ravens Route Tour (Ravenglass to Ravenscar). Today was our Hadrian’s Cycleway Day 1, the start of our latest cycle tour adventure. We got the train up to Ravenglass, arriving at lunchtime. The official Hadrian’s Cycleway starting point is the Roman Bath house, so we made our way there passing the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway station. From here the route started along the coast up to Seascale. The paths were a little overgrown in places. As we dropped down into Seascale, there were some great views of the beach….
Saturday was the start of a weekend in the Lake District. We started by driving up to Ravenglass and parked at the station for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway. It was pouring with rain! As we were between trains, we walked (or rather splashed) our way to the Roman Bath House. Quite a lot of the paths were flooded. The end of the line was Dalegarth for Boot station. By the time we git there, the rain had stopped….
This Hadrian’s Cycleway itinerary covers our second tour of the year, one we will be undertaking in July.
