Saturday was Ravens Route Day 1, and the start of our Ravens Route Tour (Ravenglass to Ravenscar). This Ravens Route Itinerary outlines the plans for our annual group cycling summer tour for 2018. As usual, we will be touring with some of our friends from Stockport Community Cycling Club – all of whom have been regulars on previous tours. Hadrian’s Cycleway Day 1 – The next adventure begins

Today was our Hadrian’s Cycleway Day 1, the start of our latest cycle tour adventure. We got the train up to Ravenglass, arriving at lunchtime. The official Hadrian’s Cycleway starting point is the Roman Bath house, so we made our way there passing the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway station. From here the route started along the coast up to Seascale. The paths were a little overgrown in places. As we dropped down into Seascale,  there were some great views of the beach….

Steaming and splashing around Ravenglass!

Saturday was the start of a weekend in the Lake District. We started by driving up to Ravenglass and parked at the station for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway.  It was pouring with rain! As we were between trains, we walked (or rather splashed) our way to the Roman Bath House. Quite a lot of the paths were flooded. The end of the line was Dalegarth for Boot station. By the time we git there, the rain had stopped….
