E2E Day 8 – Leominster to Shrewsbury Battlefields

E2E Day 8 – Leominster to Shrewsbury Battlefields

E2E Day 8. Today we split into two groups again. Bruce & Paul left first and took the most direct route as Bruce was still very under the weather. The rest of us followed the planned route, which took us down some lovely quiet lanes and pretty villages. Ludlow was especially nice with the river, castle and old buildings. However there were also a fair number of hills and I soon ran out of steam. We were all ready to…

E2E Day 7 – St Briavels to Leominster

E2E Day 7 – St Briavels to Leominster

E2E Day 7. Left the castle with the sun out but rather cool. Went through some lovely scenery. E2E Day 6 – Cheddar to St Briavels

E2E Day 6. After a days rest it was back in the saddle. Last week it was hills, hills and more hills. Today it was rain and then more rain. Thankfully the cycling was easier. E2E Day 5 – Day off in Cheddar

E2E Day 5 – Day off in Cheddar

E2E Day 5. Today was lovely weather and it was great to be able to enjoy it and appreciate our day off. The team all did different things  – cleaning bikes, having a snooze or going for a walk around Cheddar Gorge. Then some went to the pub in the afternoon to watch the football whilst others of us stayed at the Youth Hostel to cook a roast dinner (roast chicken dinner followed by homemade lemon cheese cake). Back on…

E2E Day 4 – Exford to Cheddar

E2E Day 4 – Exford to Cheddar

E2E Day 4. Having cycled the toughest day yesterday in getting to Exford we set off this morning still feeling the tired legs. And it was straight in to another hill! Thankfully it was a lovely day and in between huffing and puffing of the hill climbs the scenery has been spectacular. Take a look at some of the photos below: We arrived at lunch in the Quantock Hills (the name gives it away!) rather pooped and an afternoon of…
