Pennine Cycleway Day 3 – Bellingham to Alston
Today on Pennine Cycleway – Day 3 we cycled from Bellingham to Alston. Bellingham Bunkhouse was a good place to stay.
The ride started with a big climb – a theme for the day!
As we reached Keilder Forest, we found some interesting scarecrows.
Once past Keilder, we crossed over Hadrian’s Wall.
We stopped at Haltwhistle for lunch.
Our route to Alston mainly followed an old railway line.
Tracey really wanted to look at Lambley Viaduct, so Ian went with her and they went across the viaduct. We met up with them a little later, before our final push to Alston.
We were staying at the YHA in Alston. Today we cycled 44 miles and climbed about 3865 feet.

Great photographs but has left me feeling slightly exhausted and guilty that my bike sulks in the garage!
