Manchester Airport Circular – Big Planes!

Manchester Airport Circular – Big Planes!

Last Saturday (1st December), there was an SCCC ride to Manchester Airport. It was a cold but sunny day. We met up at The Heald Green pub then headed off round the airport orbital cycle route. We stopped for refreshments at the runway visitor park.

There were some great views of the planes taking off and landing.

Just before we left, the big Boeing double decker plane landed. It was enormous compared to previous ones that had landed!

The route then took us on via Painswick Park into Wythenshawe.

Then back into Heald Green.

The ride was about 11 miles and made an enjoyable day. I have to say I was very tired by the time that I got home (having done about 15 miles by then). It was plenty long enough for me having been ill for the previous four weeks. I suspect that some people must have got fed up of listening to me cough my way round!
