Welsh Borders Day 7 – Chester to Stockport

Welsh Borders Day 7 – Chester to Stockport

On Welsh Borders Day 6 we completed the coast-to-coast route. However, our cycling wasn’t yet complete, as we still had to get home. So on Welsh Borders Day 7, we cycled from Chester back to Stockport. Leaving our accommodation we went for some breakfast, and afterwards navigated our way through Chester. At Northgate, we joined NCN Route 5 along the section that formed the Chester Millennium Greenway. This was another route we had cycled on our recent visit to Chester….

Chester to Stretford

Chester to Stretford

The advantage of this Cheshire Cycleway tour was that we could cycle…

Plumley – A post-Christmas circular cycle ride

Plumley – A post-Christmas circular cycle ride

After the usual too much eating and drinking at Christmas, a group of Stockport Community Cycling Club friends decided we needed to get back on our bikes. Mike P kindly organised a cycle ride from Plumley taking in the Cheshire lanes. That would do the trick! Not only that, it turned out to be one of those glorious wintry days ideal for cycling. We met at The Smoker, an inn on Chester Road. After leaving the inn car park, we…
