Scottish C2C Day 3 – Peebles to Edinburgh
We started the Scottish C2C on Thursday, which was day 0 (our way to Annan). Friday was our day 1 when we travelled from Annan to Moffat. Saturday was our Day 2 when we cycled from Moffat to Peebles. Sunday was Scottish C2C Day 3 when we cycled from Peebles to Edinburgh and Monday was to be day 4 when we would cycle to the end of the Scottish C2C route and then back Edinburgh to catch our train home again. We had stayed overnight at the Castle Venlaw Hotel in Peebles, so this was where we started.
We set out following the Tweed Valley Railway Path heading out to Innerleithen.
Although we hadn’t been cycling too far, we stopped at The Whistle Stop Cafe in Innerleithen. We had been there previously and had enjoyed our visit. Also we were aware that there were limited options for stops today and our route out of Innerleithen was going to be up hill!
We set off out of Innerleithen and started cycling up the hill.
Our next tastes of civilisation would be Eskbank and then Dalkeith. It was at Morrisons Cafe in Dalkeith that we stopped for a late lunch.
We headed out via Dalkeith Country Estate.
The route then took us to Musselburgh.
From Musselburgh we followed the coast, following some of the John Muir Way, into Edinburgh.
We were stopping at the Cannon Court Apartments for the night.
It was certainly a change to stay overnight in a two bedroom apartment.
To celebrate almost finishing our tour, we went out for a meal at the Cafe Nom de Plume where we had a great evening.
