We started the Scottish C2C on Thursday, which was day 0 (our way to Annan). Friday was our day 1 when we travelled from Annan to Moffat. Saturday was our Day 2 when we cycled from Moffat to Peebles. Sunday was Scottish C2C Day 3 when we cycled from Peebles to Edinburgh and Monday was to be day 4 when we would cycle to the end of the Scottish C2C route and then back Edinburgh to catch our train home…

Scottish C2C Day 2 – Moffat to Peebles

Scottish C2C Day 2 would see us cycle from Moffat to Peebles. So, after an enjoyable evening at the Famous Star Hotel we left Moffat on a damp morning. For the first few miles we followed the valley of the River Annan. Ahead of us was the notorious Devil’s Beef Tub climb This proved to be an un-cyclable rocky path (unless on a mountain bike – and we weren’t). Our Scottish C2C Itinerary follows a new cycle route put together by the creators of the original C2C; it takes you through the Southern Uplands of Scotland, from coast to coast. Sarah and I, along with our two friends Andy and Andy (yes, lots of Andy’s!) from Stockport Community Cycling Club in late Autumn.
