Knutsford
Following a successful Stockport Community Cycling Club Annual Lunch yesterday it was back to normal business today with a cycle ride led by Neil to Knutsford in Cheshire.
Considering it was an overcast Sunday morning there was a healthy turnout of club members arrived at Wilmslow Leisure Centre from where the ride started.
We then headed out of Wilmslow along Styal Road and headed in the direction of Mobberley.
From Styal Road we headed down Mobberley Road and Burleyhurst Lane.
Then on towards Ashley.
Before we entered Tatton Park we cycled a little loop of Rostherne, the village just outside the park.
Finally we entered Tatton Park itself.
We had been through Tatton Park only a couple of weeks earlier, however I never tire of cycling through this lovely park. The views are always magnificent whatever time of year one visits.
Lunch was taken at Booths Superstore in the centre of Knutsford. A popular lunch stop for cyclists, these days this is always an extremely busy place where finding seating for dining is at a premium and the queue to be served a long one. And so it proved again today. Thankfully the food is always enjoyable.
Following lunch we set off in the direction of Toft and from there we went on to Ollerton.
The last part of our journey saw us cycle through Marthall.
Finally we came back through Alderley Edge.
We had completed nearly 27 miles by the end of the ride, and although it was a fairly cool January day it had been a great day of cycling.
