Goostrey 2018

Goostrey 2018

Sarah and I cannot remember the last time we missed three Stockport Community Cycling Club rides in a row. It was good, therefore, to get back cycling with the club again. Sarah, however, wasn’t feeling too good before this Goostrey 2018 ride and almost didn’t make it. However, by the time we arrived home at the end of the day she was glad she had made the effort.

We met at Wilmslow Leisure Centre for a cycle ride into Cheshire to a regular haunt of ours.

Leaving Wilmslow we made our way towards Morley Green.

We then headed on towards Ollerton, briefly joining Local Network Route 70, along the way.

After Ollerton, we turned on to Seven Sisters Lane and cycled through Toft.

After which we reached the Peover’s.

Turning off Middlewich Road and on to Broom Lane, a little further on we passed the Tree of Imagination.

We turned into Booth Bed Lane and picked up NCN Route 573

Our route then took us through Boots Green.

After turning onto Goostrey Lane we arrived at Goostrey Home & Leisure.

This was our lunch stop. As usual, it was very busy. While it was a shame they didn’t have any gluten-free bread as advertised, Sarah says she thoroughly enjoyed the salad they provided instead. While the rest of us enjoyed our hearty soup and sandwiches too.

After lunch, we set off back through Goostrey.

We turned into Blackden Lane.

This took us back to the Peover’s.

Through Over Peover.

Then Peover Superior.

After Marthall, we headed on through Great Warford.

Next, we turned towards Alderley Edge.

A little further on we picked up the Alderley Bypass.

Finally, we returned to Wilmslow.

Our Goostrey 2018 ride had covered nearly 26 miles. A little shorter than usual perhaps, but the better for it.
