Welsh Borders Day 7 – Chester to Stockport
On Welsh Borders Day 6 we completed the coast-to-coast route. However, our cycling wasn’t yet complete, as we still had to get home. So on Welsh Borders Day 7, we cycled from Chester back to Stockport.
Leaving our accommodation we went for some breakfast, and afterwards navigated our way through Chester.
At Northgate, we joined NCN Route 5 along the section that formed the Chester Millennium Greenway.
This was another route we had cycled on our recent visit to Chester.
We left the Greenway at Mickle Trafford.
Then joined NCN Route 70, the Cheshire Cycleway.
The quiet lanes took us through Mouldsworth.
Followed by Delamere Forest.
Then on to Norley.
We might have had some lunch here, however, it was too early, and the hostelry wasn’t open yet.
So, we continued on through Acton Bridge.
Then Little Legh.
Towards Comberbach.
Here we took some time out to refuel at the Spinner & Bergamot. It was a fabulous lunch.
Afterwards, we got back on our bikes and cycled through Great Budworth.
Through the Cheshire lanes.
Past Tatton Park.
And around the edge of Manchester Airport.
We were now back in Greater Manchester, and so it was time to begin going our separate ways. So we said our goodbyes.
Of course, after a fantastic sunny week, it now started to rain.
Finally, that was it. We were home. Our final day had seen us cycling through some familiar territory, and it brought to an end another fantastic tour.
