Two Dales Circular in the Yorkshire Dales
We found the Two Dales Circular route on the Yorkshire Dales website and what a lovely ride it was too! It was also a glorious day, hot & sunny.
The starting point was Reeth, which seemed a popular place but had lots of parking available, including using the village green. There are also public toilets, shops and pubs.
The route then took us up out Reeth through Swaledale.
We stopped in a lovely little village called Muker for lunch. There was a tea room, shop, pub, Swaledale woolen shop and also public toilets. There was a little village green area with some benches to sit on.
We went continued further along the valley and then turned left up and over to near Hawes. There were bits of this climb that were signed 25%!
The ride then took us along Wensleydale, which looked very different from Swaledale.
At Castle Bolton we then turned left and went up and over again.
The ride was about 33 miles and climbed about 3200 feet in total. We were both tired at the end – a combination of the hills and the heat – but had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
