To Cycle or Not to Cycle – That Was the Question

To Cycle or Not to Cycle – That Was the Question

That indeed was the question.

The snowfall the previous evening had made conditions quite poor and although the weather forecast promised warmer conditions as those brave enough cycled and skidded their way to the start at Cheadle Baths many of us were wondering whether to continue. Sarah and I were certainly seriously considering turning round and going back home.

The ride had already been altered once to a more local ride due to inclement weather conditions. Thankfully it was altered again as we decided to ride mainly on the more major roads. Normally our Saturday rides try to avoid doing this, however on this occasion it proved to be a wise move.

We started by heading down Wilmslow Road and towards Handforth.

Next we headed for lunch at Bramall Hall Tea Room.

Sarah enjoyed the most enormous jacket potato and tuna.

After the tea break it was just a short cycle back to the start. We had cycled just over 12 miles. For a last minute, quickly re-routed ride this was great. Sometime it is worth sticking with things. For following our initial trepidation we were glad we stayed and joined in with the cycling rather than taking the easier option of simply turning round and going back home. The ride had proved a really enjoyable experience.
