E2E Day 12 – Day Off!

E2E Day 12 – Day Off!

E2E Day 12. Today is a day off and very welcome it is too!  Windermere Youth Hostel is actually at Troutbeck Bridge and has amazing views down across the valley and the lake. The team has all been doing different things. However three of us went off for a walk in the sunshine this morning – Andy S, Andy P and I (Sarah). We set off for the local shop (down a steep hill) but then walked on further. We…

E2E Day 11 – Lancaster to Windermere

E2E Day 11 – Lancaster to Windermere

E2E Day 11. Following the tough day in to the winds yesterday, today offered a more leisurely ride. E2E Day 8 – Leominster to Shrewsbury Battlefields

E2E Day 8. Today we split into two groups again. Bruce & Paul left first and took the most direct route as Bruce was still very under the weather. E2E Day 7 – St Briavels to Leominster

E2E Day 7. Left the castle with the sun out but rather cool. Went through some lovely scenery. Unfortunatly the group got split into two groups, mainly due to Bruce being unwell and finding it hard going. The cycle tracks into Hereford were great. We went to Sainsburys cafe in Hereford for lunch The afternoon threw hail at us, which was rather painful at times! We did get some more fabulous views then as we continued to Leominster. It just…

E2E Day 6 – Cheddar to St Briavels

E2E Day 6 – Cheddar to St Briavels

E2E Day 6. After a days rest it was back in the saddle. Last week it was hills, hills and more hills. Today it was rain and then more rain. Thankfully the cycling was easier. We didn’t go through Cheddar Gorge but went along Strawberry Line instead. Lunch was taken at Portishead and happily after lunch the sun came out. The highlight of the day was always going to be the crossing of the Severn Bridge and this proved to be…
