Steaming and splashing around Ravenglass!
Saturday was the start of a weekend in the Lake District. We started by driving up to Ravenglass and parked at the station for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway. It was pouring with rain!
As we were between trains, we walked (or rather splashed) our way to the Roman Bath House.
Quite a lot of the paths were flooded.
The end of the line was Dalegarth for Boot station. By the time we git there, the rain had stopped. Here they turn the engine round and attach it to the other end of the carriages.
We rode back to Irton Road station.
Irton Road is where the two trains pass each other.
We got off the train here and decided to walk back to Ravenglass along Muncaster Fell.
On the top of the fell we found a wonderful lake.
From the lake, we continued on to Ravenglass.
Once back at the car we had a quick coffee before having a look around Ravenglass itself.
By now it was getting late, so we drove on to Cockermouth as that was where we were staying for the night.
