Seven Sisters
It was a cool Sunday morning that saw five of our group meet in Bramhall for the latest of our lockdown cycle rides. This week Neil had plotted a route which would see us head out into the Cheshire lanes to the Seven Sisters Farm for a cuppa
As usual, we set off out through Woodford.
We then turned towards Alderley Edge.
From Alderley Edge, we continued cycling on towards Chelford.
Our route skirted past Jodrell Bank.
And then through Lower Withington.
As we cycled towards Twemlow we joined a section of NCN Route 573.
From Twemlow we cycled on towards Goostrey.
After leaving Goostrey we turned towards Boot Green.
A little further on we picked up the Holmes Chapel Road and followed this for a few miles as we made our way towards Toft. Seven Sisters Farm is on the Holmes Chapel Road, just before Toft. It is best known for it’s ‘posh ice-creams’ and ‘maize maze’. However, today, we were just making a quick stop for tea and cake.
While there, Neil also took some time out to show Tracey some exercise routines.
Back on the road, we set off for Ollerton on our way to Wilmslow.
We also cycled through Great Warford …
… and when heading for Lindow End, cycled up one of my favourite named lanes – Noah’s Ark Lane
Soon, we were reaching the edge of Wilmslow.
After leaving Wilmslow, the last part of our cycle ride took us past the Deanwater Hotel and then into Blossoms Lane.
At 34 miles, this had been a slightly longer cycle ride than we normally undertake, but it had been relatively flat. Certainly, cycling around the Cheshire lanes is always an enjoyable experience.
