SCCC Lymm 2019

Saturday was the SCCC Lymm 2019 ride starting from Atlantic Street, Altrincham. It was a lovely day as 21 of us met up at the car park at the end of Atlantic Street.

We set off along the country lanes towards Dunham Massey.

We turned off School Lane onto Back Lane at St. Mark’s Church

Signs of spring we around with their being snowdrops and crocuses starting to bloom.

On our way to Lymm, we passed through Warburton. Sometimes we turn right there and go over the Warburton Toll Bridge, however today we turned left and headed towards Lymm.

We cycled along Townfield Lane.

As we approached Lymm, we took some lovely country lanes into the centre of Lymm.

We briefly picked up the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT).

Turning off the TPT (Trans Pennine Trail), we cycled up Dane Bank Lane.

Arriving in Lymm, we split into two groups with some going to Sextons Cafe and others, including Andy and I, went to The Terrace.

After lunch we all met up again and continued our ride.

As we set-off we headed out on Pepper Street and on to Longbutt Lane.

We turned off Longbutt Lane and headed down to St Peters C of E Church.

Our route generally followed the Bridgewater canal for a while.

Briefly we cycled along Lymm Road for a short period.

We turned off Lymm Road onto Park Lane, passed the Swan with Two Nicks and over the narrow footbridge.

Having crossed the footbridge, we cycled past the National Trust’s Dunham Massey Hall.

At Dunham Massey, we turned left and made our way onto Oldfield Lane.

Finally making our way back to the car park where we had started from.

It had been a lovely ride on a great day and had cycled 15.5 miles.
