E2E Returning Home
E2E Day 23. We had planned to drop our bikes off at the local bike shop in Wick for them to be shipped home. This turned out not to be quite as smooth as hoped. When we arrived at the agreed time, the shop was shut! The guy finally turned up but insisted on being paid cash to pack the bikes up and then said that it wouldn’t be until next week as he was busy – let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long to get them back!
The trip to the airport was fairly easy, as we walked there – it wasn’t far. The airport is only small.
The plane back to Edinburgh was also rather small but we took it’s big brother back from Edinburgh to Manchester. The flights were easy and we arrived a little early but to rain!
Having been back a few days now, we have been feeling tired and not up to doing much. Our bodies must have finally relaxed and realised how tired they really were. I am sure that going straight back to work didn’t help with that either!
From getting our bikes in Penzance to arriving in Wick at the end, we actually cycled 1014 miles in total. The actual trip from Lands End to John o’Groats (that we took) was 982 miles. What an achievement, although I have to admit that it hasn’t really sunk in yet!
If you have liked the photo’s that we have posted, then you may (if you have some time on your hands) like to look at all the photo’s that we have taken. However be warned that there are rather a lot of them!
There are some totally amazing views and some fabulous places that we visited.
