Cycling it weather extremes!

Sunday was the SCCC club ride starting at Frodsham and then cycling to Delamere Station cafe for lunch and then back to the car. The weather was foul – it never stopped raining and the wind was icy cold! All in all it wasn’t the most enjoyable ride but we had a good time in the cafe. The weather had put most people off but there were six hardy souls (or is that six stupid folks????) and we had to laugh about it! Instead of the planned 30 miles, we only actually did about 15 but that was plenty!

Today was the total opposite – warm and sunny, although a little breezy still but very pleasant. So for a change we went out into the lanes around Poynton. It is just so uplifting to be out in the countryside on your bike when the weather is nice. There were lots of lambs around and quite a lot of bluebells, along with great views – like balm to your soul! It is what cycling is all about for me. We did around 17 miles tonight, so a reasonable training ride as well as being so enjoyable.
