Bamburgh and it’s Castle

Bamburgh and it’s Castle

Following an enjoyable stay at Ordiefork in Midmar it was time to head back home. However Sarah and I decided to prolong our break a little longer by taking an overnight stop at Bamburgh. Bamburgh is of course best known for its castle and we had cycled past it on our Coast and Castles South tour a few years previously. We were staying at The Sunningdale Hotel near to the castle. After booking in we decided on a little walk. It was rather…

Crathes Castle and Midmar

Crathes Castle and Midmar

St Andrew’s Day 2013 in Edinburgh

St Andrew’s Day 2013 in Edinburgh

Manchester Christmas Markets 2013

Manchester Christmas Markets 2013

Sarah LOVES Christmas. I enjoy it too, however Sarah really LOVES Christmas! So a trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets 2013 was a surefire way of getting into the Christmas spirit (even if it is still only November). We have been to the Manchester Christmas Markets and tasted the gluhwein before of course. It’s becoming a tradition. We visited this year on the opening Saturday (as I found out later). Originally the plan had been that Sarah and I would meet…

Conwy Half-Marathon Recce

Conwy Half-Marathon Recce

Our blog posts are mainly about our cycling adventures, our day trips and our tours. Occasionally we write posts about walks we have been on, and every so often we have included a post about somewhere we have visited. Strangely however we have never written anything previously about another interest of ours, that of running. This Conwy Half-Marathon Recce post finally corrects that. On Sunday 24th November we are participating in the Conwy Half-Marathon organised by Run Wales. It will…
