Acton Bridge
Finally we were witnessing a sustained period of sunshine in the UK in early June, and Sunday morning presented us with another fantastic sunny day for a cycle ride out in to the Cheshire lanes. This was the latest in the series of Stockport Community Cycling Club‘s eXtra Rides.
Leaving from Gatley Rail station we worked our way through Wythenshawe, round Manchester Airport, the large houses of Hale Barns and towards Ashley.
We cycled through Tatton Park.

Then it was on through Great Budworth and Little Leigh.
Lunch was at The Leigh Arms on the edge of Acton Bridge and Little Leigh. The food was reasonably priced and well presented. There were no specific gluten-free options for Sarah to choose from, but thankfully there was a reasonable range of baked potato choices. Serving time was a little slow, though thankfully it turned up quicker than the 1 hour wait that was being mentioned to our group at one point.

Feeling refreshed we set off again and cycled through Antrobus and High Legh.
Finally it was back through the edge of Dunham, Timperley and then Wythenshawe to arrive back at the start.

We had cycled 51 miles down some lovely Cheshire lanes, the sun had shone. What a great day it had been to be out cycling!
