Yes dear, it’s the Dunham Massey deer, dear
Following my Crash and Burn adventure of the previous day Sarah and I decided on something a little more sedate on this cold Sunday, a visit to Dunham Massey therefore was just what was called for.
We have cycled in the Dunham Massey parish many times without ever actually visiting Dunham Massey itself.
We decided to go for a walk through the Deer Park.
Initially this proved to be a popular path to follow. Dunham Massey has the enviable reputation as National Trust‘s most visited North-West attraction. Judging by the number of people present on this cold Sunday it was easy to see why.
It did however point to the likelihood that spotting deer might be a challenge.
We continued to follow the boundary wall and as we did so the number of people around thinned out significantly. Then there they were …
Continuing around the perimeter we soon came across another group of deer.
By now it was getting darker.
We headed back towards the hall.
Dunham Massey proved to be an enjoyable place to visit for an afternoon. In fact I am sure we will be back soon since I have just taken out NT membership and a look inside the Hall beckons.:-)
