Wilmslow Circular 2021
We are into Autumn now, and so have been experiencing some wet weather recently. Thankfully, it was a mild and dry morning for this Stockport Community Cycling Club Wilmslow Circular 2021 cycle ride. This would be a modified version of our 2018 and 2019 route.
We met in Heald Green. I was leading this ride, and Sarah was the back-leader.
Our cycle ride began with us working our way around the perimeter of Manchester Airport.
We were following local cycle network route 85, the Manchester Airport Orbital Cycleway.
After following Styal Road for a little while we turned into Moss Lane.
We then took the track alongside the airport runway.
After leaving the airport perimeter, we cycled up the climb on Altrincham Road.
Before turning into Morley Green Road, and then Burleyhurst Lane, and heading towards Wilmslow.
Our route eventually left Burleyhurst Lane at Graveyard Lane.
Now on the outskirts of Wilmslow, we joined Paddock Hill Lane.
Next, we made our way through the tracks around the edges of Lindow Common.
From Lindow Common we dropped down into The Carrs.
It was a good place to take a short break.
Three Monkeys
Following our break we cycled through the centre of Wilmslow before joining a cycle path along the side of Maclean Way. It included these steps!
Once up, we followed the path towards Colshaw Farm.
From Colshaw Farm we made our way to Handforth.
Finally, from Handforth we returned to Heald Green.
Our Wilmslow Circular 2021 route covered nearly 16 miles. Thankfully, it seems everyone enjoyed the route, Wand w managed to get most of them back to start … so we’ll classify the ride a success!
