Those Rolling Cheshire Lanes to Lower Peover
The latest Stockport Community Cycling Club Saturday ride started from Lindow Common – former home of Lindow Man. It was a bright and breezy day for a cycle ride around the rolling Cheshire lanes to Lower Peover. Sarah was leading the reading the ride and I was the back leader.
We began by weaving our way through the off-road lanes to Morley Green
From here we cycled through Marthall and Ollerton.
Crossing over the A50 we turned on to Middlewich Road.
And then at Lower Peover we turned down Free Green Lane.
Coffee break was taken at the Snowdrop Cafe in Grasslands Nursery. On the whole they offer standard food here. For such a decent cafe the big disappointment is that the cafe is severely lacking in gluten-free options – it’s the soup (and I am making an assumption that it is gluten-free) or nothing.
After the coffee break we continued through the Peovers crossing the A50 on to Long Lane.
Through Peover Superior.
Around the edge of Lower Moss Wood.
And then back through Marthall to Wilmslow.
We cycled past White Peak Alpacas Farm.
Finally we picked up the bridle path to re-enter Morley via the back lanes.
We had cycled 20 miles by the time we returned to Lindow Common.
