Way of the Roses 2014 Itinerary

Way of the Roses 2014 Itinerary

Our Way of the Roses 2014 Itinerary outlines our first tour of the year, starting in Spring. Sustrans describes this as a spectacular coast-to-coast cycle route passing through both the red rose county of Lancashire and the white rose county of Yorkshire. Sarah and I have completed this coast-to-coast tour once before. Back in 2012, this coast-to-coast formed the second of our training tours for the End-to-End (LEJOG). Our route then took us through York Racecourse. After crossing the racecourse we…

Coast and Castles South Day 1 – the adventure begins!

We had packed all our stuff and loaded up the bikes on Coast and Castles South Day 1. We were all ready for our Coast and Castles South Tour. Whatever we were taking, we had to carry.    Coast and Castles South Day 1 began by cycling to Manchester Piccadilly where we were catching the train (about 9 miles). As you can only book 2 bikes onto a train,  we were travelling in small groups up to Newcastle. The train…
