Ashton Canal – The Dry and the Wet

Ashton Canal – The Dry and the Wet

The weather forecast for the weekend had been for rain, rain, and more rain! The Met Office had issued weather warnings for flooding. Not a great picture for the Stockport Community Cycling Club ride along the Ashton Canal. Not only that but Sarah has been feeling somewhat under-the-weather recently, and just as she begins to recover it seems I am now beginning to struggle with a virus too. Media City 2015

Media City 2015

Media City is always a popular ride in the Stockport Community Cycling Club calendar. Could we do the same as we joined in with the Stockport Community Cycling Club ride to Monton and Worsley? We met outside the Robin Hood pub in Stretford. John had even turned up in his Sunday best! The ride began by heading out through Trafford and Salford Quays passing through Media City.      We weaved our way through…

Crash and Burn

Crash and Burn

The day started so well! Sarah and I left the house at 7.15am in the morning to meet up with fellow Stockport Community Cycling Club riders to cycle to the start of this weeks ride. The club ride this week was Cuerden Valley,  and the start was at Whittle-Le-Woods, Chorley. So ahead of us lay 35 miles. Through Stretford, Trafford Park, Walkden, and around Bolton. It was cold, with temperatures hardly rising above zero. Finally we arrived. Soon we were…
