Around Poynton – And Hazel Grove and Bramhall

Around Poynton – And Hazel Grove and Bramhall

The common factor for recent Stockport Community Cycling Club rides (apart from bikes and cycling!) has been rain – and lots of it. To that extent the Around Poynton ride was no different. It was raining when we arrived at the start, it was raining when we arrived in Poynton, and it was raining when we all went our separate ways after the ride. Poynton Circular

Poynton Circular

The final Stockport Community Cycling Club ride before Christmas saw a hardy group of riders meet at Torkington Park in Hazel Grove for the Poynton Circular route. Macclesfield Lumps

Macclesfield Lumps

A healthy number of Stockport Community Cycling Club members met at Torkington Park for Alec’s ‘Macclesfield Lumps’ ride. C-Lyme-b Park

The latest Stockport Community Cycling Club ride saw us taking a trip to Lyme Park. It was a cold but thankfully dry morning as 25 hardy club members met at Rose Hill. Off we set along the Middlewood Way. Past the former Higher Poynton Rail Station. We came off the Middlewood Way and turned on to Springbank Lane. Then up to Pott Shrigley. We then followed Shrigley Road. And in to the back of Lyme Park where we took a track…

A Chadkirk Bridge That Wasn’t Too Far

The first Stockport Community Cycling Club Saturday ride of the year was titled Chadkirk Bridge and led by Graham. We met up at Torkington Park on a very cold morning, and in spite of the cold and the national forecast for the day 20+ club members still decided to brave the weather. Since the ride involved stretches of road Graham decided to break us up in to smaller groups. He asked Sarah and I to lead one of the groups….
