Saturday was the SCCC Big Stockport Ride in reverse. We met up in Green Lane, Stockport – next to a big puddle! The day was rather overcast and chilly as we arrived at the stadium in Woodbank Park for the PUMA Stockport 10 2013 race, organised by Stockport Harriers. Neither of us had been to the track before. Back in August Stockport Community Cycling Club assisted with the marshalling of the Big Stockport Cycle. The route proved a popular one, so why not the same ride – but in reverse? The Big Stockport Cycle is part of the Stockport Big Event Series which includes walking and running events as well as the cycling. This event, in it’s second year is organised by Lifeleisure in association with Decathlon. Their aim is to encourage people to challenge themselves and to take part in a mass participation event.
