Saturday was the SCCC Macclesfield Circular Ride. Thirteen of us met up at the Riverside Park near Macclesfield. Andy P was the ride leader for the day and I was the back leader. We set out of the Riverside Park car park and headed onto The Middlewood Way towards Macclesfield. We continued along NCN (National Cycle Network) route 55 towards Sutton. Stockport Community Cycling Club cyclists arriving at Hazel Grove Park and Ride were greeted by some remarkably warm weather. When we have a bank holiday, one of our favourite activities, surprise, surprise, is to go on a bike ride. Sadly, Sarah was working. Thankfully, Andy S wasn’t. We met at the top of Torkington Road on the entrance to the Middlewood Way. It was a fine sunny day. We followed NCN Route 55 through Higher Poynton. The common factor for recent Stockport Community Cycling Club rides (apart from bikes and cycling!) has been rain – and lots of it. To that extent the Around Poynton ride was no different.
