Out to Macc via the Brickworks

After missing last Sundays coronavirus lockdown ride due to being on our Bay Cycle Way tour, things were back to normal this weekend. This weekend it was Tracey’s turn to plan the route, and she decided to take us out to Macc, or more correctly, Macclesfield. We met at Poynton Pool and headed out up Towers Road. It was a lovely sunny day for cycling. From there we made our way up through Higher Poynton and on towards Pott Shrigley….

Macclesfield Lumps

A healthy number of Stockport Community Cycling Club members met at Torkington Park for Alec’s ‘Macclesfield Lumps’ ride. Sarah and I had been on a two hour run as part of our Conwy Half-Marathon training the previous day and were still feeling the miles in our legs. The talk of hills and lumps suggested we were going to struggle. The route began by heading out to Bollington. From Middlewood we climbed up through Higher Poynton and on to Pott Shrigley….
