Newton and Dean Row

Newton and Dean Row

Sarah was feeling wiped out when it came to our weekend cycle ride. It may have had something to do with the long run in stifling heat she had completed the previous day. Instead, Andy S stepped in for a socially distanced bike ride. It was the first time we had met up since the coronavirus pandemic lockdown had begun. We decided to head out to Higher Poynton and later Newton. Of course, it also meant that all the photos…

SCCC’s Soggy Sunday Cycle Ride to Henbury

SCCC’s Soggy Sunday Cycle Ride to Henbury

In our last post, which detailed our Wilmslow Half Marathon exploits, Sarah wrote how I had been feeling a little unwell for the last few weeks. This virus continued exerting its effect throughout this last week. In the early part I struggled and then as I began to recover Sarah started to struggle. Middlewood Way

Middlewood Way

The latest Stockport Community Cycling Club ride saw us off along the Middlewood Way on an overcast and quite cold day. The Brickworks – A View From a Hill (or Two)

Having not done any cycling in Edinburgh and having a free Saturday, we thought a short local cycle ride might be the order of the day. We always enjoy heading up to Higher Poynton, and this is where we headed for. However I decided upon a different route for this occasion …including taking in the Brickworks. Leaving home we set off up through High Lane and Disley. A couple of stiff climbs ensued as we went up Jacksons Edge Road…

C-Lyme-b Park

C-Lyme-b Park

The latest Stockport Community Cycling Club ride saw us taking a trip to Lyme Park. It was a cold but thankfully dry morning as 25 hardy club members met at Rose Hill. Off we set along the Middlewood Way. Past the former Higher Poynton Rail Station. We came off the Middlewood Way and turned on to Springbank Lane. Then up to Pott Shrigley. We then followed Shrigley Road. And in to the back of Lyme Park where we took a track…
