Saturday saw Stockport Community Cycling Club members arrive at New Mills Leisure Centre for the traditional end of year club ride along the Sett Valley Trail. Having a free afternoon last Sunday we decided to take the opportunity to do a bit of hill-walking and chose a route up to Kinder Downfall in the Peak District National Park. Sunday afternoon we decided to go out for a walk with Chris (Andy’s brother who was up visiting from Bournemouth). We drove to the Peak District and parked in the car park near the visitor centre by Ladybower Reservoir in the Derwent Valley. Then we set off to walk around the reservoir. The last time this ride appeared in the Stockport Community Cycling Club calendar it ended up being abandoned half way round as a washout.
