76084 Steam Train in Stockport

The locomotive 76084 steam train came to Stockport today on it’s way to Buxton. It is not too often that there is steam train in Stockport, so we had to go and see it! The 76084 along with the 45690 locomotive were pulling a spar express to Buxton as a private charter. There are a number of ways to get to Whaley Bridge from Hazel Grove.  Straight up the A6 is a bit of a long slog, but not too bad. Peeling off the A6 at High Lane and using the canal cuts down the slog but is a bit circuitous. It is however flat. Neither of these however get the muscles and heart working for long.
