The Halls Route has become a regular event on the Stockport Community Cycling Club calendar. Sadly Sarah hasn’t been feeling too well for the last few days and wasn’t up to tackling this ride. Andy had realised that Stockport Community Cycling Club didn’t actually do a ride around Stockport itself and he decided that should change. The answer was the Stockport Circular Ride that we did on Saturday! We met near Woodsmoor Station. The route took us along the Fred Perry Way and then into Bramhall Park. Through Cheadle Hulme, then Bruntwood Park. Just after leaving Bruntwood Park, one of the group had a puncture, so there were some emergency repairs before we continued….
Sunday was the Stockport Community Cycling Club Ride out into Cheshire to Redesmere, stopping at Jodrell Bank for lunch. We all met up in Davenport. Oh it was noisy! They were digging up the road with a view to resurfacing it. The sun was out and it looked like being a lovely day, which resulted in a large turnout of 34 riders. The ride started at Davenport Green. We headed out through Bramhall, across the grounds of Total Fitness then across the A34 and through to Styal. The route then took us to Mobberley, skirting Knutsford, then through Pickmere, Lostock Green and round to Peover Heath. The plan was to stop for lunch at The Dog in there. When we arrived, all feeling really hungry, there was a bit of a problem – it was shut for renovations! Time for plan B…
