Portland Basin 2022

Portland Basin 2022

This Portland Basin 2022 Stockport Community Cycling Club ride followed our annual AGM. It was our first following the sad death of the founder of the club, Jim Court. Business details out of the way, many of the attendees were keen to get out cycling. A ride out to Portland Basin has become a tradition following our AGM’s. It was a cloudy though fine day for it. Portland Basin 2021

Portland Basin 2021

It was raining when Stockport Community Cycling Club cyclists met in Woodley for this Portland Basin 2021 ride. Andy S and I were leading this second group, and today I was the back leader. Leaving Bredbury, we headed for Woodley. Here we joined the Peak Forest canal. We followed the canal all the way to Portland Basin. At Hyde, we crossed over from one side of the canal to the other. Navigating one bridge, we got it slightly wrong. Instead of…

Crime Lake 2018

Crime Lake 2018

It was a fine, though windy, Saturday morning as Stockport Community Cycling Club members met at Portland Basin, ready for the Crime Lake 2018 cycle ride. We set off through Ashton-Under-Lyne. Soon we joined NCN Route 626 at Hurst. This is also known as the Ashton to Oldham Gateway. We followed this for the next few miles to Park Bridge. As we were to discover, there were a lot of barriers to make our way through on this ride. Here’s…
