Scholar Green – Bleeding Good Ride!
Sunday was an SCCC eXtra ride to Scholar Green, which was being led by Andy. The ride started at Wilmslow Leisure Centre.
It was a cool start and as we cycled to the start of the ride, we found that there was also a head wind.
We headed out through Marthall to Goostrey.
Then headed out to Swettenham, although the ford their looked deep – none where brave enough to try it!
The ride went on through Arclid, Fourlanes End, Halsall Green, Church Lawton and then onto the A34 at Scholar Green.
Lunch was at the Bleeding Wolf Inn at Scholar Green.
The staff were very helpful and the food was very nice. After lunch the weather became much warmer and the sun came out.
The ride headed back via Congleton then on to Gawsworth.
From there we continued on to Mottram St Andrews and then back to Wilmslow.
The ride was 48 miles long but when including the ride to the start of the ride and back home again, we had cycled 64 miles altogether. There were 15 of us on the ride and I think we all enjoyed it.
