SCCC Plumley Ride

SCCC Plumley Ride

Sunday was the SCCC Plumley Ride where 16 of us met up at Timperley Sports Club.

We left Timperley sports centre and headed out towards Hale.

We skirted around Tatton Park.

Making our way through Knutsford.

having passed through Knutsford, we headed out onto some quiet lanes towards Plumley.

We stopped at the Plantation Cafe in Plumley for lunch.

Feeling nicely refreshed, we passed through Lower Peover.

The Tree of Imagination

We then cycled over Peover Heath.

Results of Storm Doris

We turned down a quite lane where there was a farm vehicle coming the other way, rather quickly. I didn’t see it as I was near the back of the group but as I turned the corner I saw Miguel fall off him bike as it slipped on the mud at the side of the road and almost got his head squashed! Thankfully he managed to roll the other way just in time! It looked rather close from where I was. Thankfully it ended well.

We passed a field, next to where Miguel had his little incident, where the cows were being rounded up by a couple of people on horseback.

We then made our way back to Knutsford.

King Street, Knutsford

Having ridden through Knutsford and into Tatton Park.

Deer in Tatton Park

We cycled through Tatton Park – Andy and I both love it there. We then headed back towards Hale, following the same way that we had come out.

From Hale we made our way back to where the ride started but via a different route than we had set out, passing the ground for Altrincham FC.

We came in the back entrance to Timperley Sports Club, which was were the ride had started from.

It had been a very enjoyable ride, except the near miss for Miguel, and was very well let by Gill. We had cycled almost 32 miles. You can see our route below:
