Mellor Moor Walk
Good Friday was a good day for a walk, so we met a friend in Marple Bridge and set off for a walk to Mellor Moor. It was a lovely day for our Mellor Moor walk.
Because the weather was so good, the views were really good.
We passed the Hare and Hounds pub at Mill Brow.
Our walk then continued to climb.
We passed Mellor Hall.
At the top on Mellor Moor, we found a trig point, which had some real grand views!
After a brief break to enjoy the views, we set off past Mellor Cross, which is currently a cross with the top missing! Rather more of Mellor T instead.
We made our way down towards Mellor Golf Club
Having passed Roman Lakes, we passed where Mellor Mill had been. They are currently working on excavating the area where the mill had been.
We then made our way down into Marple Bridge.
Having walked through Marple Bridge centre, we made our way into Brabyn’s Park. We had cycled through the park many times and even run there (with Marple Parkrun) but had never actually walked through it before.
We then climbed up to Rollins Wood.
We paused for a while in Rollins Wood, looking at all the new trees that had been planted there.
Our final stop was at the Spring Gardens for a late lunch. The boys enjoyed a good pint to finish off the walk nicely. The food was very good.
We had all enjoyed our day out. The weather had been very favourable.
