Lincolnshire Lost Lanes Day 4 – Louth to Cleethorpes

Lincolnshire Lost Lanes Day 4 – Louth to Cleethorpes

So far, our cycle tour had been pleasantly straightforward. Yesterday, for example, it had been a relatively flat journey to Louth. For Lincolnshire Lost Lanes Day 4, however, we were going to have to do a bit of climbing!

The weather once again was looking good as we left Louth.

We immediately began by heading into the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB.

We made our way through Hallington.

There were some fabulous views.

After 10 miles we quickly passed through South Willingham, turned north, and left the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Further on we entered Kennel Woods.

At the other end, we briefly joined the A631, before turning east and heading back into the Lincolnshire Wolds.

A little further on we arrived in Tealby.

Here we found The Kings Head and decided to stop for lunch. Built around 1367, the pub is the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire.

Fuelled up we now began the main climb of the day.

This would take us up to Croxby.

We also joined NCN Route 1.

Then NCN Route 110, which would take us all the way into Cleethorpes.

First, we had to negotiate Waltham and then, a little further on, Humberston Grange.

Eventually, we reached the east coast at Humberston.

We followed the coastal path into Cleethorpes.

Then went looking for our overnight accommodation, Clee Hotel.

In the evening we headed into town and found Fez Restaurant. Here we enjoyed a fantastic Moroccan meal.

Today we cycled 39 miles. It included a fantastic exploration of the Lincolnshire Wolds.
