Knutsford (Without Me!)

Knutsford (Without Me!)

It was a cool, but thankfully, sunny morning when Sarah met up with our Sunday morning cyclists crew, on the corner of Blossoms Lane, for a cycle ride out to Knutsford.

Of course, it was going to be a cycle ride without me! I am still recovering from my hip operation following my crash a couple of weeks ago on the last day of our Cheshire Cycleway tour.

(I am writing this blog post, by the way, and not Sarah because I have plenty of time on my hands while I recover. Whereas, in the meantime, Sarah is really busy).

They set off down Blossoms Lane towards Woodford.

Then made their way through Wilmslow.

From there, they picked up the Alderley Edge bypass for a short section.

After leaving the bypass, they joined Chelford Road and then turned into Merryman’s Lane. In doing so, they briefly followed a section of NCN Regional Route 70, the Cheshire Cycleway. We had cycled this section on the first day of our recent tour.

They then cycled through Ollerton, Marthall and Toft.

Eventually, they reached Lower Peover, and at this point started to turn for home.

A short break was called for.

Before getting back on their bikes and continuing on through Plumley.

A little further on, they reached Knutsford and went in search of a cuppa.

Unfortunately, it proved a fruitless challenge. It seemed everyone in Knutsford was in need of a cuppa too, and the queues were endless. Thankfully, they had a few backup supplies and tucked into these.

After leaving Knutsford Park, the (slightly) refuelled cyclists continued on their way towards Mobberley.

Then, from Mobberley, through Lindow End and back into Wilmslow.

Finally, they retraced their steps past the Deanwater.

… and back into Blossoms Lane.

At the finish they had cycled nearly 30 miles. Speaking to Sarah afterwards, she said she had really enjoyed getting out on the bike again and cycling down the country lanes.
