E2E Day 9 – Shrewsbury Battlefield to Widnes
E2E Day 9. Last night we spent some time with Jim & Barbara Court, which was lovely.
Today there were 3 groups of us. Kevin & James set off early as they were going home to Chorley tonight. Bruce & Paul went off together as Bruce was still not well but is much better than he was!
This morning we went to Tesco’s first for breakfast. Lunch was at a fabulous cafe in Tattenhall called Alison’s Country Kitchen.
There was even an old delivery bike outside. We met up with Jim & Barbara there, as well as Bruce & Paul.
Just after lunch Andy S had a problem with his pedal, so we had to look for a bike shop. We found a fantastic one on the edge of Tattenhall, called Global Bike.
They were really nice people and very helpful, also had some amazing bikes in stock!
We managed to get through Runcorn and on to Widnes using cycle lanes. I thought that going over the lane at the side of Runcorn bridge was rather scary – there was just some railings between me and a big drop!
The route then took us past the seaside (sort of!)
Tonight we are meeting up with family and friends at the Toby Carvery – which we are all looking forward to!
