Dunham Town
I may not be cycling at the moment as I recover from my hip op, however, following the success of my planning last Sunday’s group ride to Knutsford, I once again plotted the route. This time to Dunham Town.
There were three of the team – Sarah, Andy S, and Tracey – who met at Bramhall Library on a cool but sunny Sunday morning.
They started the cycle ride by heading over to the A555, the Airport Relief road.
Then followed this for the next few miles.
Just before reaching the airport, the route left the relief road, and instead headed off around the edge of Woodhouse Park. This meant picking up Regional Cycle Route 85, and a little trip around Panswick Park .
They continued on towards Newall Green.
Then from there, on towards Hale.
After Hale, the cyclists made their way through Bowdon.
The route took them past Dunham Massey.
On a clear sunny Autumn day like today, the variety of the colours of the leaves on the trees and the surrounding area make for a fabulous site.
After cycling through Dunham Town the route began turning back towards Timperley.
In Timperley, a bus shelter was temporarily reclaimed as a butty stop, and sandwiches consumed.
Soon, they were back on the road again and continuing their journey through Timperley.
This was followed by weaving their way through Wythenshawe.
Where they rejoined Regional Cycle route 85.
Eventually, they arrived at the Stockport border again.
Back in Stockport, the route weaved its way through Heald Green and Cheadle Hulme.
Eventually, they arrived back in Bramhall.
Upon arriving back at the start the cyclists had completed just under 28 miles, and the feedback was positive. It had been another enjoyable autumn ride. As shown in the photos, the autumn colours had provided the route with a lovely and vibrant background.
