Day trip to Ipswich

Day trip to Ipswich

Having spent the night in Norwich, we had a whistle stop tour of Norwich (about 30 minutes long). There was some kind of festival going on (the annual Norwich and Norfolk Festival apparently). We then drove down to Ipswich for lunch with my cousin Helen. We went to the Last Anchor on the Marina. The restaurant didn’t look much from outside but the food was fabulous! Steaming and splashing around Ravenglass!

Saturday was the start of a weekend in the Lake District. We started by driving up to Ravenglass and parked at the station for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway.  It was pouring with rain! We actually were going from Fisherrow to Cockenzie. We passed the air cadets base. Behind there was a large concrete arrow on the ground. There was…

Standing on Arthur’s Seat

Standing on Arthur’s Seat

We had originally planned to undertake this walk the previous day, but as we often do changed our plans to suit our mood. So it was now a fresh cool Tuesday morning when we left Edinburgh Tune Hotel bound for Holyrood Park. Not before we stopped off for a coffee at Jacob Artisan Bakery though. A great little place and highly recommended. We started the walk from the car park near to the village of Duddingston and headed up Jacob”s…
