Winter Wonderland Walk
Today I should have been leading an SCCC Ride to Tatton Park. However it had to be cancelled due to the weather – the possibility of ice being too great. After we had waiting at the cycle ride start, just in case anyone hadn’t get the message and turned up to ride, it was pleasing that everyone had obviously got the message as no one turned up! This did mean that we had some unexpected free time today, so why not make the most of the bad weather with a Winter Wonderland Walk.
We met up with our good friend Andy at Lyme Park and went for a lovely walk. It was quite bright when we first arrived but almost immediately, the mist descended.
There were lots of people around the park taking advantage of the snow and getting some sledging done.
When we were about half way round out walk, it started to snow. Very slowly at first and then the flakes became much bigger. It didn’t snow for long though.
There were some bits that were quite slippery and others that were quite muddy.
We walked about 6 miles. Once we got back to the car park, we had to visit the coffee shop for some tea and cake. It was there that we also bumped into Tracey, Dan and Victoria who had been sledging for the afternoon – it was great to see them too!
