Welsh Borders Coast-to-Coast Itinerary

Welsh Borders Coast-to-Coast Itinerary

NOTE – This tour was originally planned for 2020, the Coronavirus pandemic resulted in it being postponed. The itinerary listed below is as originally planned. We are planning on cycling the route in 2022, the new itinerary can be found here.

Our Welsh Borders Itinerary outlines our main summer tour for 2020. It is, as usual, our annual group cycle tour with some of our friends from Stockport Community Cycling Club. This year the team will be Andy P, Sarah, Andy S, Andy S, Neil, Des, Tracey and first-timer, Dave. This will be our eleventh summer tour. Yet again it promises to be something special!

Severn Bridge – the starting point of the Welsh Borders coast-to-coast

The Welsh Borderlands, sometimes known as the Welsh Marches, is ideal for a cycling holiday. It is unspoilt, with little traffic and lots of history – there are romantic castles, standing stones, moss-strewn churches, pagan wells, and Victorian spas to name just a few. Then there are the picturesque black and white villages set in the lush and undulating landscape. Yes, ideal for cycling.

City of Chester Queens Park Bridge over the River Dee – whose estuary is the finish point of the Welsh Borders coast-to-coast
