SCCC Ride to Lymm

SCCC Ride to Lymm

The SCCC Ride to Lymm started today from the TPT (Trans Pennine Trail) car park at the end of Atlantic Street, Broadheath, Altrincham. Today’s ride leader was the very lovely Gill. The back leader was meant to be Andy P but he was busy working on his OU assignment, so I stepped in and said that I would be the back leader instead. However when I looked at the weather forecast the night before, I wasn’t looking forward to it…

Sale Water Park

Sale Water Park

After last weekend’s Stockport Community Cycling Club weekend in Scarborough today it was back to the bread and butter of the normal weekend rides and today the destination was Sale Water Park. Post TPT – SCCC Club Weekend in Scarborough

Sarah and I had enjoyed a successful Trans Pennine Tour (TPT). Leaving Hull we once again weaved our way towards the old Hull-Hornsea railway line. This time we didn’t follow the path to the end but turned off at the A165 near to Skirlaugh. We followed country lanes to Sigglesthorne. We continued to follow the…

TPT Day 5 – Howden to Hornsea and Hull

TPT Day 5 – Howden to Hornsea and Hull

Friday was our TPT Day 5 – Howden to Hornsea then Hull. It was also Andy’s birthday (he said he was 24 but I think he may have ‘lost’ quite a lot of years)! We left Howden and followed some lovely quiet roads. The only ‘problem’ was that they were very exposed,  which meant we had quite a strong head wind. We crossed over a lock called Weighton Lock. About 16 miles into the ride we stopped off for a…
