Today was Stockport Community Cycling Club‘s annual awards event, the Club Lunch 2016. This is always a highlight of the club, as can be seen from the previous years events – 2013, 2014 and 2015. As usual the awards lunch was held at Hyde Bank Farm in Romiley. The lunch began with what Jim refers to as a short lighthearted ‘fiendish’ quiz. Our table were fortunate to this year to win. Wednesday was our TPT Day 3 – Stockport to High Melton. We set off from home and cycled back to where the TPT enters Reddish Vale, where we left it yesterday. The first section was very familiar to us. From there we headed up through Haughton Dale then on towards Godley. We went through Hattersley We stopped off in Hadfield for a coffee. As we left Widnes Travelodge on TPT Day 2 it was a cool and misty morning. All was set for an enjoyable day of cycle touring. We decided on breakfast at the nearby Brewers Fayre. Having fortified ourselves we set off on stage 2 of our journey and were soon on the St Helen’s Canal towpath. Saturday was the SCCC Big Stockport Ride in reverse. We met up in Green Lane, Stockport – next to a big puddle! The ride was one the was originally organised by Life Leisure and was called the Big Stockport Ride only we were going to do it in reverse.
