Big Stockport Cycle

The Big Stockport Cycle is part of the Stockport Big Event Series which includes walking and running events as well as the cycling. This event, in it’s second year is organised by Lifeleisure in association with Decathlon. Their aim is to encourage people to challenge themselves and to take part in a mass participation event. Stockport Circular Ride

Andy had realised that Stockport Community Cycling Club didn’t actually do a ride around Stockport itself and he decided that should change. The answer was the Stockport Circular Ride that we did on Saturday! We met near Woodsmoor Station. The route took us along the Fred Perry Way and then into Bramhall Park. Through Cheadle Hulme, then Bruntwood Park. Just after leaving Bruntwood Park, one of the group had a puncture, so there were some emergency repairs before we continued….

Stockport Community Cycling Club‘s latest ride was the popular ‘Ferry ‘Cross the Mersey’ trip to Liverpool.    \r\nWe started from Otterspool and headed along the promenade for the ferry port. After our recent Coast and Castles South tour, on Saturday it was back to the regular Stockport Community Cycling Club rides. Not quite the coastline of Northumberland, the spirituality of Lindisfarne, or the green valleys of the Scottish Borders. Instead in ‘Cheshire Cheese’ Jim had lined up an alternative cycle ride quite unlike any other previously encountered by SCCC.
