Way of the Roses 2014 Itinerary

Way of the Roses 2014 Itinerary

Our Way of the Roses 2014 Itinerary outlines our first tour of the year, starting in Spring. Sustrans describes this as a spectacular coast-to-coast cycle route passing through both the red rose county of Lancashire and the white rose county of Yorkshire. Sarah and I have completed this coast-to-coast tour once before. Back in 2012, this coast-to-coast formed the second of our training tours for the End-to-End (LEJOG). Tatton Park

Tatton Park

The first Stockport Community Cycling Club of 2014 saw a hearty group of more than 20 cyclists turn out for a trip in to Cheshire to visit Tatton Park. We met at Gatley Rail Station on a cold and damp morning. Rain and wind were forecast – would we manage to dodge the showers? Sarah was leading the ride, and I was the back-leader. The ride set off through urban Heald Green and Handforth and on to Wilmslow. There really…

Poynton Circular

Poynton Circular

The final Stockport Community Cycling Club ride before Christmas saw a hardy group of riders meet at Torkington Park in Hazel Grove for the Poynton Circular route. Compared to recent years this Christmas has so far proved relatively mild, and so it was on this occasion, though there was a bit of a stiff breeze to contend with. I was leading today’s ride, and Sarah was due to be the back-leaders. Sadly Sarah was still struggling with the cough that…
