Last Saturday was Stockport Community Cycling Club‘s AGM. As has now become a tradition, it was followed by this Portland Basin 2019 cycle ride. This year the AGM was held at Bredbury Library. Leaving Bredbury, we headed for Woodley. Here we joined the Peak Forest canal. We followed the canal all the way to Portland Basin. At Hyde, we crossed over from one side of the canal to the other. Following the cycling club AGM it was the SCCC Portland Basin ride on Saturday. We set off from Stockport Sports Village in Woodley, where the AGM had been held. We went through Haughton Dale basically following the Rive Tame. We crossed over the River Tame, using the bridge at the bottom of Gibraltar Lane and made our way to the Peak Forrest Canal. Saturday was the Stockport Community Cycling Club AGM followed by a ride from Woodley up to the Portland Basin and back. Saturday saw Stockport Community Cycling Club members arrive at New Mills Leisure Centre for the traditional end of year club ride along the Sett Valley Trail.
